American drama film. The film was partly based on Operation Red Wing, an unsuccessful SEAL operation in Afghanistan. It has three story lines, a congressman who launches a new military strategy and details it to a journalist, two soldiers involved in unsuccessful operation, and their college teacher trying to encourage a promising student to take a stand in life.

- In an interview to the Variety magazine, Tom Cruise said he had made the film out of deep respect for Robert Redford’s body of work, which he said had inspired him since Ordinary People (1980).
